Shortcut and Hotkeys

LinguaX shortcuts help you trigger actions without leaving your current task. Actions are the shared payload of automation: a mapped mouse button and a keyboard hotkey can fire the same action, so you can drive most of your workflow from the mouse and keep hotkeys as a backup.

What You Can Do

  • open LinguaX quickly
  • trigger mapped actions from a hotkey or a mapped mouse button
  • reduce repetitive pointer navigation

Action Types

  • input-source direct switching
  • media/system actions
  • app launch and utility actions
  • custom script actions (AppleScript or Shell script)

Script Action Templates

Built-in examples include:

  • toggle dark/light mode
  • toggle system mute
  • restart Dock
  • control Spotify playback
  • copy current Finder path
  • clear clipboard

Safety and Permissions

  • scripts run locally on your Mac
  • first run may request Automation permission for controlled apps

Conflict Handling

LinguaX should warn when shortcuts conflict with macOS or existing app-level shortcuts.

Setup Checklist

  1. pick high-frequency actions first
  2. avoid collisions with macOS and IDE shortcuts
  3. test in your real workflow apps
