AIx Service Addendum

This addendum applies to your use of AIx text processing in LinguaX. It supplements the Service Agreement and Privacy Policy. If it conflicts with the Service Agreement on an AIx-specific matter, this addendum governs that matter. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be excluded by law.

The Service

AIx offers polishing, proofreading, simplifying, expanding, translating and summarizing text, and actions you configure yourself. You can enter text in Quick Test or actively apply an action to selected text in another app. Results require an internet connection to an AI service; AIx is not an offline model. Reading and replacing selected text depends on macOS Accessibility and support from the target app. AIx does not read clipboard history or automatically send everything you type.

License and Text Transfer

Both LinguaX AI and Bring Your Own API modes, including Quick Test, require a currently valid LinguaX License. A trial License permits AIx use only during its validity. If a License expires, is revoked or becomes invalid, you cannot make further AIx requests even if it has remaining LinguaX AI credits or you have configured your own API key. Invalidity alone does not automatically remove local settings or activity records.

Before sending text in each mode for the first time, the app separately explains that mode's transfer path and asks you to agree. Merely viewing or configuring AIx, or declining to agree, does not send a generation request. Withdrawing agreement stops new requests in that mode, but cannot recall earlier transfers or automatically erase records needed for accounting or by law. Only submit text you have the right to provide and process, particularly if it contains another person's information, trade secrets or confidential material.

Service Modes

LinguaX AI (default): When you actively run an action, your submitted text, selected action, any necessary custom instructions and target language go to LinguaX's server, then to its selected AI model provider. The result returns to your device. LinguaX's credit and request ledger does not store the source text, generated result or custom instructions. The model provider handles the request under its applicable terms and may retain data. Do not submit sensitive text you are unwilling to send through this route.

Bring Your Own API: You can configure an OpenAI-compatible HTTPS endpoint, model and API key. Your device sends the text, instructions, model parameters and API key directly to your configured endpoint, not through LinguaX's generation proxy. Your key is stored in macOS Keychain; the endpoint and model settings are stored locally. Check your provider's terms, data practices and charges. LinguaX may still communicate with its server to validate your License. These requests do not use or display LinguaX AI credits, and failed requests do not automatically switch providers.

LinguaX does not offer a server-side history of source text or results. Quick Test and preview text is used for the current interaction; local activity records do not store that text. Check the result and selected destination before using Replace.

LinguaX AI Credits

Credits belong to a License, not a device or email address. Eligible devices on a valid License share the server-side balance. A new trial License receives one trial grant; an eligible Lifetime License receives a separate one-time grant, including when acquired after a trial. Unused trial credits do not transfer to a different Lifetime License. Gifted credits have no separate expiry date but cannot be used while the License is invalid. They cannot be withdrawn as cash or transferred to another License. A Lifetime License does not include unlimited free generations.

LinguaX selects the model for LinguaX AI. The app displays the current credit rates per 1,000 input and output tokens and the server-side balance. Charges use the applicable rates and actual token counts for the request. Credits are settled only when a complete, usable result is delivered to the client and delivery is confirmed. Failed, canceled, timed-out or unconfirmed requests are not settled; temporary reservations are released through the server's process. The server's settlement records, not the seven-day local activity record, determine the balance. Contact us if you believe a deduction is wrong.

Top-ups and pay-as-you-go credit purchases are not available in the initial release. If introduced later, eligible Licenses, prices, payment, refund and credit rules will be disclosed before purchase. This addendum does not authorize payment. Changes to the model, grants or rates apply to future requests only, with notice where required by the Service Agreement or law; completed requests are not repriced.

Records and Privacy

Local AIx activity contains the time, action type, outcome, duration, error code and, if applicable, credits consumed. It is kept for no more than seven days and can be cleared sooner. It does not contain source text, results, custom instructions, API keys or source app names. Clearing it does not alter the server-side balance.

For License validation, grants, request idempotency, settlement, security and disputes, LinguaX keeps the balance and necessary License-linked metadata: request and device identifiers, timestamps, status, token counts, reserved and settled credits and error reasons. Its AI settlement ledger does not store source text or results. Clearing local activity does not clear this ledger. See the Privacy Policy for data-handling details and your rights.

Responsibilities and AI Results

You are responsible for submitted text, custom instructions, your own API configuration and the decision to use a result. Do not use AIx unlawfully, infringe rights, disclose information without authorization or evade License, credit or request-rate limits. LinguaX may apply reasonable technical limits and address abuse in accordance with the Service Agreement and law.

AI results may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased or unsuitable. Review them before copying, distributing or replacing text, particularly for medical, legal, financial, employment and other consequential matters. AIx does not guarantee a requested language or format or replacement support in every app. Rights in submitted text and generated content depend on applicable law and, for your own API, the provider's terms. LinguaX does not claim ownership of your submitted text merely because you use AIx.

Changes and Contact

We may update this addendum as AIx changes, giving notice of material changes under the Service Agreement and applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using AIx. Contact hello@linguax.app with questions about AIx, credits or privacy.
