LinguaX Is Ready for macOS 27

LinguaX 2025.12 (build 5200) is now stable and fully supports macOS 27. It remains compatible with macOS 13.0 and later, so upgrading LinguaX does not require upgrading your Mac.

The macOS 27 beta cycle changed the behavior of several system interactions that LinguaX relies on. We used the beta releases to find those differences early, validate fixes in real workflows, and bring the complete compatibility work into this stable release.

What we found during the macOS 27 beta​

LinguaX sits close to the parts of macOS that turn mouse buttons and keyboard shortcuts into useful actions. A major system update can change how those interactions behave even when an app's interface looks unchanged.

During testing, we focused on four visible issues:

  • A shortcut recorder could appear focused without capturing the keys you pressed.
  • Recording a shortcut could trigger the matching menu command instead of saving it.
  • Some mapped system actions and Space-switching actions behaved differently on macOS 27.
  • Custom mappings on wired Logitech G-series mice could require a reconnect after the Mac woke from sleep.

These issues were handled in the macOS 27 beta builds before the stable release. Build 5200 brings the resulting fixes to everyone.

Shortcut recording now behaves predictably​

Shortcut recording should be a simple interaction: open the recorder, press a combination, and save it. On macOS 27, there were cases where the recorder looked ready but ignored input, or where the key combination reached a menu command instead.

In LinguaX 2025.12 (5200), recorded combinations are captured consistently without firing the corresponding menu item. The recorder also has clearer prompts and controls, making it easier to tell when it is listening and to remove a saved shortcut.

Mapped system actions continue to work on macOS 27​

LinguaX can map mouse buttons and shortcuts to common macOS actions, including window controls, editing commands, screenshots, navigation, and other everyday operations.

We reviewed these action paths for macOS 27 and adjusted the ones affected by the update. Existing mappings are preserved, so you do not need to recreate your setup after installing build 5200.

Space switching keeps its fluid transition​

Switch Space Left and Switch Space Right are especially useful on a mouse button or directional mouse gesture. Early macOS 27 builds affected how these mapped actions were dispatched.

They now work again with the familiar fluid workspace transition. If you already mapped Space switching in LinguaX, the same mapping will continue to work after the update.

Wired Logitech G-series mappings recover after wake​

Waking a Mac should not mean unplugging a mouse or restarting an app. LinguaX now rebuilds the connection it needs for wired Logitech G-series custom buttons after wake.

Mappings recover automatically when the Mac returns from sleep, including setups using supported wired G-series models such as the G502 family.

What “ready for macOS 27” means​

For this release, macOS 27 support covers the LinguaX workflows most likely to be affected by a system upgrade:

  • Shortcut recording and triggering
  • Mapped window, editing, screenshot, and navigation actions
  • Switch Space Left and Switch Space Right
  • Mouse button and gesture mappings
  • Wake recovery for wired Logitech G-series mice
  • Existing input-source and mouse configurations

The minimum system requirement remains macOS 13.0. LinguaX supports both Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and your existing mappings remain intact when you update.

How to update​

If you installed LinguaX directly, the app checks for updates automatically and will prompt you when build 5200 is available. You can also download the latest stable build from the LinguaX download page.

If you were using the macOS 27 beta, you can update directly to stable build 5200. LinguaX will leave the beta channel as part of that update; no reinstall or configuration reset is required.

Homebrew users can update through the normal Cask flow once the new build reaches Homebrew:

brew upgrade --cask linguax

Fully supported, without leaving older Macs behind​

The purpose of the beta was to catch compatibility differences before they reached the stable channel. With LinguaX 2025.12 (5200), that work is complete: LinguaX fully supports macOS 27 while continuing to support macOS 13.0 and later.
